About

Bio:
Jared Haberman is a Chicago resident who graduated from Illinois State University in 2006, with a Bachelor in Arts degree. He expresses his artistic form with various mediums and surfaces. His recent artistic body of work consists images painted on vintage or old windows. Working with photons, he incorporates vibrant colors to stimulate your neurons and excite your retinas. Jared has had several shows in the Chicago-land area due to the connections the community has with his work.

He believes that an artistic expression can be recognized in a notebook, on a wall, in a newspaper, and just about anywhere. Jared is a visual expressionist and he often finds that he runs out of room on paper.

Through his work, he reminds us that we should consistently think beyond the norm and realize that we can use anything to create with. His work shows his desire to physically manifest his ideas into visual art form. He hopes not only to inspire his audience, but to provoke a discussion within his audience.

Statement:
I've always loved art. When I was in second grade I wanted to be a Cartoonist when I grew up. I was accepted into Illinois State University's Art program in college and graduated with a bachelors degree in 2006.

I would like to think that art started for me after I graduated. I did my first art show in December of 2007 at Marshall Mcgearty's in Bucktown. A month later the ban on cigarette smoking indoors went into effect and they shut down. I didn't sell anything. But for me it was more about self exploration, what could I do next? I always carried a sketchbook on me and a Precision tipped black pen to sketch with. I filled books and books full of sometimes the same drawing over and over again, front to back, both sides of the paper. I would frequently run out of paper and have to use the back of an old poster, or in my most recent ventures; phone book pages, old books pages, pages from music note sheets, etc.and now onto windows.

For me, it's not a question of when art began; but rather, where will it end ?
